What is a cold chain?

A cold chain is created when time-temperature sensitive products such as food products, pharmaceuticals (medicines) or chemicals are transported from one location to another. The goal of the cold chain is to preserve a certain temperature stability over the total duration of the product traveling time from sender to receiver so the quality of the product can be guaranteed. The distance between these locations and the means of transport used, will stress the impact on the cold chain. Needless to say that the creation of a successful cold chain is a big challenge, certainly when international product-travels are required or in fine-distribution (last-mile) chains with multiple drop-deliveries. This is where we, as developer and manufacturer of cold chain logistic solutions, offer a helping hand.
