Cooler bags or insulated thermal carrying bags are bags that are equipped with a certain insulation material to offer a certain thermal resistance against external temperature influences. With other words, cooler bags are used to protect the temperature of temperature sensitive products or conditioned products such as fresh or chilled products, frozen products and ambient products. The purpose of the cooler bag is to maintain or protect the product temperature as long as possible or to decrease the speed of the temperature change of the product. In this case the insulation quality of the cooler bag will determine the time of the temperature preservation of protection. The better the insulation quality (R-U-k-value) of the cooler bag, the better or the longer the temperature preservation.

The Temax® insulation material is a unique engineered insulation material based upon air-thermal-conductivity (lambda 0,024W/m.K) and Polyethylene-LD-thermal-conductivity (lambda 0,33W/m.K). The Temax® material is thermally engineered according to ISO-6946 in which the engineered values are inclusive Rsi and Rse with horizontal transmission combined with the multiple Re values. The cavity wall technique was engineered with un-ventilated values.
We offer a tailor made production of the cooler bags which also means that we can offer different insulation qualities depending on the type of products such as fresh products, chilled products, frozen products or ambient products. When extra cold or heat temperatures are required, extra thermal energy generators such as gel packs, Dry-Ice or PCM’s (Phase Change Materials) can be added to stabilize the temperature of the conditioned product for a longer time.ce.
When insulated cooler bags are used to preserve or protect the temperature of conditioned products (fresh – frozen – ambients) during a certain time, it can happen that the insulation quality of the cooler bag combined with the available thermal energy of the product is insufficient to maintain the required temperature. In this case extra thermal energy is needed. To provide this extra thermal energy, extra thermal energy generators can be implemented such as gel packs, ice packs, dry ice or PCM’s (Phase Change Materials). The type of thermal energy generator or the required quantity that needs to be added is depending on the specific situation and needs to be thermally engineered.
